Coffee Shops Near Columbus Station Apartments

One thing our residents love about living at Columbus Station Apartments is the proximity to Town Center. Virginia Beach is a mid-size city, and Town Center is definitely a hub of activity. There are shopping, food, and entertainment options just a few blocks away. And a special part of what makes it feel like city living is the coffee shop culture. Here are a couple of coffee shops near Columbus Station Apartments that you can try out in order to see which one fits your vibe this fall.

Town Center Cold Pressed
168 Central Park Ave
15-minute walk; 3-minute drive
Located less than half a mile from the Columbus Station community, this is the original location of a local chain. (The other locations are in Norfolk and Williamsburg). Featuring a variety of coffee beans grown all over the world (Colombia, Ethiopia, and Indonesia), this shop is a local favorite for all your favorite coffee pick-me-ups, from a classic latte to a nitro cold brew. They also offer an exciting selection of matcha, chai, and horchata beverages, plus pressed juices, fruit smoothies, and “immunity shots,” which are small, 2-ounce juice drinks packed with good-for-you ingredients like ginger, turmeric, black pepper, zinc, vitamin C, matcha, and probiotics.

This is in addition to their cafe menu, which features coffee-shop staples like bagel sandwiches, oatmeal bowls topped with fruit, nuts, berries and coconut. They also serve smoothie bowls with fruit like acai, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, or kiwi.

Starbucks
4393 Virginia Beach Blvd, 0.8
233 Independence Blvd
15-minute walk; 3-minute drive
There are two Starbucks locations nearly equidistant to Columbus Station Apartments. Both have the Starbucks atmosphere you’ve come to expect–solid drinks and snacks, free wifi, and a mix of tables and lounge chairs.

Krispy Kreme
4901 Virginia Beach Blvd
8-minute drive
Only slightly down the road from Starbucks, Krispy Kreme is known nationwide for its delicious hot-and-now doughnuts. (If the hot doughnuts sign is lit, pull over immediately and grab one.) It’s not necessarily a coffee shop where you can settle in with your laptop and get some remote work done, but it’s a great spot to meet up, and you can conveniently hit up the drive-thru if you’re in a hurry.

Dunkin’
627 Independence Blvd
6-minute drive
Not much further up Independence Blvd. is Dunkin’, an enduring American classic. Simple coffee and sweets

Colattao Coffe House
1115 Independence Blvd
9-minute drive
Quaint, cozy, and locally-owned. Great spot for a date or for getting a little work done. Snag a locally-sourced pastry along with your coffee, tea or matcha beverage!
